bored indoors
friend's voices roar
and ignore the little things
that pinky dreams
repeating the T.V. screams
on their buzzing screens
that stream words
to make people believe
one more terrible thing
that we should be afraid of
fears are what they're made of
as the pendulum swings
between right and wrong
between fight and song
as we sway along
and focuses on
the materials we want
all the crap that haunts
our every desire
instead of the muses we're inspired
our standards that already expect too much,
higher
until we grow tired
more T.V. to keep us wired
and connected to
our home thinking machine
dulling the little things

with commercials that roar
