(no subject)
So I never post. I suck.
Last weekend, Allen and I finally moved into our own place again. It's not bad, really. More expensive than I wanted, but still not bad. It's a 5 minute walk to work and we're right behind a grocery store and a Hobby Lobby. Which means everything I ever wanted is a 5-minute walk away. (Did I mention this particular grocery store has the best fried chicken I've ever eaten?)
About the apartment:
-Ground floor. this is so nice, though I kind of wanted a balcony. Balconies are nice for herb gardens.
-The kitchen is small. :< Though, I have a dining room table now, so it's not as bad as it COULD be. I still need to get a couple of cabinets. I may or may not have rescued too much stuff from Allen's Grandma's house when we were going through things.
-I have an egg beater. This is more exciting than it should be. I also have not beaten any eggs with it, and I SHOULD.
-I also have a garlic press, but it probably won't get used because Anthony Bourdain says it ruins the flavour.
- I can hang pictures on my walls. This is a good thing because now I can put pictures of my cat up like most people do with their children.
-I miss my cat. But the little fucker's costing me a 200 dollar pet fee and a vet visit so the apartment knows he's been fixed. Why I can't just lift his little tail and go "LOOK MA NO BALLS", I have no idea.
-Pictures of the apartment will come after I get my cat. Apartments always look cozier when there are cats in them.
-My bathroom is HUGE. Seriously. My bathroom is the size of the dining room in my old apartment.
-My closet is also huge. If it needed to be, it could be a second bedroom. A twin bed would fit VERY nicely.
-We got a pair of couches. They are very comfortable, but need liberal amounts of cloth and the aid of a nailgun. For now, steam cleaner.
-We have a new cat shelf. If Rofl does not sit there, I will be very disappointed.
-We also have vertical blinds. No kitties can mess up vertical blinds.
Work is going well. This week, being one of the few people trained to do my job properly has its advantages. I get my full hours. Of course, it has some disadvantages. I have to work Saturdays for a while.
I still haven't been down by the lake. This saddens me. I wanna put my feet in semi-radioactive water and see if I get mutant superpowers.
