This weekend was the first weekend of the State Fair! Hooray! I love the fair! Competitions and fried foods and people people people! It is the best!
I entered that scarf and those socks this year... I got second place for both. That's ok, I suppose! The winner in the "other" category was a pair of gorgeous colorwork gloves with ridiculously nice stitching, and the socks that won over mine were Cookie A socks, so I can't really complain. Well, of course I can complain, but I won't too much :)
I consoled myself with deep fried chili pie and a deep fried cinnamon roll sprinkled with bacon. They were pretty delicious, if absolutely ridiculous. I like eating one ridiculous meal a year, to keep my digestive system on its toes. It's definitely on its toes now! Maybe next year I'll have a deep fried pizza! They looked lovely :)
I have a tiny little photoset from the fair, if you want to see some decorated eggs (Hunger Games! Lord of the Rings!) and legos (more Hunger Games! King Kong!) and animals. I do love the fair! I should take more pictures next year!
Last night the kittens must've been cold, because Eric had to go downstairs and they had turned on the electric kettle and the fireplace. Their facility with switches is disturbing...
