Cats and Knitting

So, yesterday took a bit of a turn for the worse. Eric had just gotten off work when Asi had a seizure. Poor poor baby! It lasted less than a minute (I couldn't even find the emergency number before he was done), and he seemed ok afterwards, but we took him to the emergency room at NC State, anyway. By the time we got there, he had perked up quite a bit and was really acting back to normal, but they took him in back and put him in the oxygen tent and ran a squad of tests on him, anyway. They didn't find anything we didn't already know about: heart murmur, enlarged heart, anemia, and nothing that could explain the seizure, so he gets to go back to the kitty cardiologist this week. If they ever call me back.

In the meantime, he's definitely back to normal. Today he's lazing about, avoiding his sisters, and demanding that we watch him eat and give him lots of treats. Eric is working downstairs to keep an eye on him, but I think he'll be ok. At least until the next one. He does have some interesting new shaved spots, though. His spots from the last time never grew back. I hope these do! The spot on his tail makes it look broken from certain angles.

Anyway, the hours and hours in the waiting room last night gave me a chance to finish my swatch for my Chartres socks (finished during the closing ceremonies! Victory!). Now that's all done, except for the washing and blocking. I've started a scarf, since I don't think I'll finish my shawl by the fair, but maybe I can finish that? Doesn't look like much, but I just started it this morning. Hopefully it will look better once I get a bit more done :)

It's Oiseau de Feu by Caoua Coffee, part of her Opera designs. I love it! (Of course, I really loved Pamina, too, and that only got me second place last year. SECOND PLACE! FIRST LOSER!)

Anyway, right now it looks a bit like a pink tiara. I like it!
