Here! Have another picture of my feet. Is that weird? Probably. So, these are the Jaywalker socks I'm making for my mom. The colors are a bit off... The pink and the green are about as neon as they are in person, but the third color is brown, not black. I'll have to try to get a better picture during the daytime, rather than in the middle of the night before I go to work.
Do you see how shapely they are in the heel? I'm trying
Turtlegirl76's double gusset heel. I do like the aesthetics of it... It's not so important with this sock, where there's a pattern change, anyway, but I do like how it allows you to do the gusset without breaking up the pattern of the foot.
Here is a much cuter picture! We're doing Adventure Time cosplay this year, and I'm making the Finn accessories for my nephew. I had a LOT of white fleece, so while I was cutting things out, anyway (worst part of sewing!), I just doubled everything and made a Fiona hat for Leah, too. It's not the best, but she makes it work! (However, if she decides to make a better hat, I won't be disappointed! It's not very show-accurate! I was following a not-so-good tutorial!)
So! Here's something else I started yesterday!
Feministy is doing this incredible Cowl KAL contest! She is releasing five cowls over the next three months. The first cowl pattern is free. If you finish that by the deadline (Feb 8), you get the second cowl for free. And so on and so on through all five cowls. Anyone who finishes all five cowls by the deadline gets a super secret prize :) I think it's amazing, and I had some lovely DK weight yarn that was moldering in my stash, so I cast on, and we'll see how far I can go!
So... the other three KALs I was considering for this month? Kinda dropped by the wayside. I AM SO FICKLE! Also... um. What am I going to do with all these cowls when I'm done?
