Cooking Light: Way to Bake

Jan 26, 2012 10:53

Bake or Break is a pretty evil web site. She is always posting delicious looking desserts (Seriously! Go look at the front page right now! Evil!) Well, a few weeks ago, she raffled off a copy of Cooking Light's book Way to Bake. And I won!

It came in the mail yesterday, and I was so impressed! I had been pretty skeptical. I mean, if you know me, you know that I'm not really into "light" baking! But then I read the recipes. And I mean *really* read, cover to cover, practically! It is chock full of delicious sounding recipes - Pumpkin-Honey Beer Bread, Cornmeal Muffins, Hazelnut Scones (drizzled with a topping made with Nutella), crepes, pizza rolls, pies - I started bookmarking recipes to try, but ran out of bookmarks! Perhaps a bake-through is in order? I don't know! It was very inspiring!

Interspersed in all the recipes are some very good tips for bakers, such as how to make light muffins, or how to peel a peach. This would be a great resource for a beginning to intermediate baker!

So, thank you Jennifer from Bake or Break! I can't wait to start making some of these delicious recipes!
