I suppose it's a productive weekend.

Darn everyone for having such full schedules! I wanted to go out and do things this weekend, but everyone was already booked up to have fun this weekend! Boo!

So, instead, I got a ton of stuff done. Ok, a lot of it was videogames, which probably doesn't count. But I finished Legend of Dragoon! It was really a good RPG, I must admit! I wish I would've played it when it first came out, because it was really mindblowing for that level of technology! Even so, it was really fun.

Then, I went to a game that I *did* play when it first came out, Final Fantasy 9. I am having so much fun replaying it! When it first came out, I was down on FF because I'd really hated FF8 (one of two FF games I started but never finished). I didn't expect to like FF9, but the game grabbed me right off the bat and made me remember why I loved the franchise. Now, the last FF game I played was 13, the other FF game I've started and not finished (although I might finish it sometime?), and FF9 is like a fresh breeze. And Brahne! Ridiculous, crazyface Brahne! I'd forgotten how silly she is! I am going to have so much fun cosplaying her next year!

Speaking of cosplay, I got some non-gaming stuff done. I finished half of the leg form for my Dragoon armor. I am planning on finishing the back half tonight. Then I just need to get my hands on some styrene and see if this will work in the vacuum former. I'm actually a bit pessimistic about whether I can get this all done by Dragon*con with vacuum formed armor. I'm wondering if I shouldn't go back to making the pieces out of craft foam. There is some pretty awesome craft foam armor out there, and it takes less time to put together... It seems that right now, everyone else in the group is waiting for someone else to get something done before they start working on their outfit again. Well, see that, guys? Someone's working on their armor! (Although it's still nothing done, yet.) (Does anyone want to go to the local plastics place with me to pick up styrene?)

I had planned on working on the back of the leg form on Sunday, but we had to clean the carpets in our dining room, so there wasn't really enough room to work on the form. Instead, I worked on Jennifer's Tree of Life socks. The nice thing about colorwork is that it's easy to see progress. I finished the leg (after reknitting that trunk three times), and turned the heel. Now I'm nearly halfway through the last colorwork chart! Unfortunately, as you can see in the picture of the heel turn, these won't be going to the fair. So, the second sock will have to wait until October. But it's definitely been instructive! Maybe I can make the Nightingale socks for next year!

So, I finished half a leg form, advanced my classic video gaming and knit quite a bit on Jennifer's sock. Oh! And I cleaned the dining room carpet. I guess we can call that a productive weekend?
