Plato's Closet - a thrift store review

So, over the weekend, there was a Groupon for Plato's Closet. It's a teen-oriented thrift store, and there's one right next to the Best Buy. I'd seen it many times, but hadn't thought to go in. So, we decided to scope it out and see whether it was worth it to buy the Groupon. Let me tell you, in our "scoping" trip, I ended up buying two shirts, Ruth bought (among other things) two pairs of shoes, and Leah found a perfect Nick-shirt. And we found great shoes for Katie. So, I bought the Groupon.

<-- Yesterday, Katie needed to get the shoes, so I invited myself (and poor, long suffering Eric) along with her and Amy. Again, the place is just so good! It's like the best parts of a thrift store (cheap clothes! Not as cheap as Goodwill, but still good as long as you pay attention to price tags.) only with the good parts of a regular store (They accept credit cards! Helpful staff!). The only drawback I've found is that they are not as stringent on the whole "in good shape" thing as Goodwill, so you have to check and make sure there aren't stains or rips in the garments, and that buttons are all there, etc.

Anyway, I ended up with a pair of pants, three work shirts, and an Emma Pillsbury shirt. I couldn't use my groupon on the work shirts, because they were 50% off already (look for the red star on the price tag!), so I had to go find $5 more dollars of stuff. I found a really cute pair of flats that will be my casual shoes once it's above freezing :) All in all, I spent my Groupon (grey work pants, Emma Pillsbury shirt, shoes), and $20 more (two button down blouses and a black sweater with a shawl collar). Not bad, I think!

So, Plato's Closet (at least the one next to the Best Buy in Cary) gets two thumbs up from me!

And here's the best quote of the night. I took a blouse off the rack and asked Eric what he thought. He said, "It looks like a shirt you would like." Oh, so evasive!
