Am I old?

Soo... this weekend. Maybe not the best.

I went to get my hair cut, and the stylist asked if this picture of Alison Pill was a picture of my daughter. Then I went to get cold medicine for Eric, and rather than carding me for the over 18 purchase (what? It's happened!), the cashier was like, "Oh, no. I can tell *you're* old enough." Then Olga (dear, sweet Olga) was surprised that I don't have a passel of kids. Stop calling me old! It hurts my delicate (aging) sensibilities!

Saturday was fun, though! Lazy Daze in Cary is this big four-block long art & craft show. I love it! It was hot, it was crowded, we all got split up halfway through, but it was a bunch of fun! I only ended up with a gift (and for someone who reads this journal, so I can't post it), but I loved looking at all the amazing work that people do! (Which reminds me! Durham's Art Walk is November 20 & 21!)

I spent the rest of the weekend working on making a blouse. See the picture above of Alison Pill for the gist of it. I couldn't find a black cap-sleeved blouse, so I decided to make one from scratch. As usual, I think I'm skinnier than I actually am, but it fits. I was going to take a picture of it to show you, but then I got distracted by arranging the lace on it, and pictures did not get taken. So, at this point, I need to sew on the buttons (can be done in the car), sew on the lace (as soon as I get it rearranged pleasantly), sew on the (totally fake) corsetting ribbons, and sew on the neck bow. And then I have to figure out how to make that ridiculous headbow stand up. I'm debating between wiring the edges or using a stiff felt inside a fabric envelope. I would also like to make Eric a new ascot for his costume, and maybe a hat to go with my steampunk outfit. Surely I can finish all that in the two days I have left, right?

Overheard just now "Carrboro is the San Fransisco of the east." Really? Is this a common fact?
