So, do you remember last summer when I angrily knit a shawl in a week? Well, I finally got around to "blocking" it. It was made with acrylic yarn, so I had to pin it out, then run a really hot steam iron over it to, well, basically half-melt/ruin the yarn. But, um, it looks nice? Now, if only I had something to wear it with. It's the ubiquitous
Swallowtail Shawl from Interweave Knits, made out of a random acrylic yarn I had lying around.
I also finished my
September Socks, the Peachy Pumpkins. It's a lovely yarn (Panda Silk), and a lovely pattern (
Little Pumpkins by Sheepaints), but, unfortunately, they don't mesh so well. You can't win them all, I suppose!
So, did I start my October socks? No, I realized that I still hadn't even started take 2 of my step-mom's Christmas Shawl. Now I'm in fear of getting it done on time. Also, the yarn I picked looks gorgeous on the skein, but, well. I think the shawl's name is going to be "Pegasus Barf." *sigh* Some day I'll learn how to mix yarns & patterns. I don't have a picture of the shawl-in-progress, yet, so, here. Look at all my pretty double pointed needles (if you click through, I've put notes on each set's size on them. Almost like I thought you'd care!)! Notice that I have three sets of 1s. Is that my favorite size, or is that just the ones most likely to be missing at any one point? Notice the gorgeous set of ebonies in the middle. Thank you,
crazycatladymel! I love them!
And, for those who couldn't care less about knitting, here is a picture of some carrot cake cupcakes I made this weekend! There is also most of a spice cake in the refrigerator, but I didn't take pictures of that. I didn't particularly like the cupcakes, so I've already deleted the recipe from my bookmarks. I should've waited until after I posted, eh?
