Super Bowl running commentary from last night

Feb 02, 2015 07:42

The mighty Grand Canyon in all its beauty.

And then a split-second of the stadium.

That's about the proper ratio.

"Fireworks" ifyaknowwhatImean

Stuff it, T Mobile, you haven't been doing that for very long have you? No high and mighty nonsense from you
[And AT&T's got a one-month rollover, so it's not like T-Mobile's that unique]

Uh, okay Geico

Whatevs, golf thing

NBC's stream has been mostly okay so far

Movie commercial not a total waste of my time? Wow. Still not interested in seeing Jurassic World, but at least the trailer entertained me

Pats looked good converting that 3rd and 1. Pats O and Seahawks D both looking competent so far, but the Pats look like their planning's been better.

Great pick for the Seahawks.

More pointed car ad than the first one. Better Geico ad.

Looks like Seattle's O is in gear now.

Another useless car ad, yay.

Yes, poor widdle Microsoft is just like a four-year-old with no legs.

Pizza Hut makes their point.

Pickup truck is funnier than it knows and not trying to be subtle.

Pointless action movie, check. It did catch me off-guard, with the statues making me think it was on to another commercial and then the car busted through.

Strong Nissan ad. Probably the best put-together so far.

Stream has just plain dropped a few times. Much like Seattle's offense right now. They're gonna have to adjust, or NE will grind out the win.

Biiig pass and big score for Seattle.

Camry ad.

Fifteen seconds of staring at a Coke bottle that's still less terrible than most of what Pepsi's done in the past 20 years.

Brilliant idea, by the way, of sticking huge video screens right behind the uprights like that. I'm sure the kickers don't mind that at all.

Coke "sugar water will cure bullying" ad that's still less stupid than at least half of what Pepsi's pulled over the last 20 years.

. . . Did they put a black bar across her boobs?

I bet Coke would have been mad if it had been a blowout at the end of the first quarter.

Guts pay off for the Seahawks, don't blame them for going for it [against NE], going into halftime tied. Good game so far. Time to go watch the Puppy Bowl or something.

Yeah, we all know how those Europeans looove their big cars, especially around those skinny old-time streets.

That was kinda disgusting at the end of the avocado ad. Licking another person's rubbery fake finger is not on my list of happy fun times.

Camry goes for the family demographic, nice one but not selling the car. The other one managed to tie in both the "rarr he-man car" and "safe for the family" demographics, that was impressive.

Overall I think the Pats had the edge in the first half, but Seattle looks like it could take control going forward if the Pats aren't careful. The vaunted Seattle defense is looking figured-out, though.

Shiny fireworks!

That was a weird initial camera angle on the field goal kicker. His hed looked pastede on yey.

Shiny stadium!

People should really learn not to get penalized after a turnover. Keep your cool.

Seattle's looking like they've figured out the Pats' D, now.

Hey, a dog. I was expecting a dog from Budweiser, but congrats on counting past two I guess Mini.

These people are getting really excited over mushy fruit.

The fouls are starting to pick up. :S

That was funnier, T-Mobile.

The sacks are coming out now, that's fun.

Huge pass knockdown in the endzone.

Ugh, concussion. :(

Good to see Amendola get a Super Bowl TD, he's an ex-Ram.

Nice, atmospheric Jeep ad.

No idea why Geico keeps having that ad run. You'd think they could have had the guy sit there another 60 seconds for a few different lines. "Cold cuts are better served cold. And that's why the Chinese use chopsticks."

Simple, funny Mini ad.

Well, there's Brady's comeback. Two minutes for death or glory for Seattle.

Great knockdown for the Pats.

NBC's stream has been blurry and it's been sharp, but always as long as it's functioned I've been able to tell what's going on. So good for them I guess.

Epic catch. :D

!!!! That's basically the finisher. Interceptions were out of my mind at that point, what a shock. What an end to the game.

[Joe Buck catches on that the Pats will have to get the ball out of the endzone]
Well, yeah, Joe, that's why I said "basically".

hey guys

I went to a fight

and a Super Bowl broke out

GET IT

So, yes, Nissan and the domestic abuse thing win the ads. Honorable mention to Jurassic World trailer. Pizza Hut would be an HM as well, but the groin shot brought back the '90s in the worst way.
