Sorry about going so long between postings. I mean to write more often, honestly. I'm going to keep an .rtf on the desktop just for jotting stuff down, I think.
So KJ's mom stayed with us for a couple of weeks earlier this month. Unfortunately, KJ went through a period of relatively heavy overtime, so they didn't get to spend as much time together as hoped, but it was still a good visit.
We went to a wedding, which went pretty well all things considered, and a graduation, which also went well.
Very rainy and stormy here the last few days. Raining hard right now, but wireless internet is a magical thing. Tornado watches have been a daily thing. Apparently one actually touched down a few blocks from my parents' place a month or two ago.
Speaking of -- I'm getting a certain amount of psychological separation from them and home. I walked around in the house for the first time in some while and it felt a little strange, as if it truly were someone else's house. And I can see that they're getting frail and old. Not walker/wheelchair frail by any means, but . . . well, they've become less "my parents who I guess happen to look old, but they've looked a bit old for a while" and more "my parents who look old".
Another one of my "favorite" little websites has shut down. Very niche, humor often tended bluer than I like, the subject matter wasn't even mostly strictly my interest, but it was very funny nonetheless and I liked to drop in on it every now and then. Ah well. Google is also a magical thing, when it isn't busy being a creepy or anti-useful thing.
Going to try to be a little more artsy in the coming days.
I assume all of you have seen the
two-Spock car commercial by now, but I shall link it just in case.
