Parents got back from their trip today. I think they enjoyed it. Penny was doubtless glad to see them and Pooky looked a little surprised.
This morning, watering the garden (still very hot and dry here), I disturbed
this fellow. That's its newly discarded shell on the left there. I took a bunch of pictures because I didn't think the camera was handling the lighting situation very well (and because all the angles were awkward), but they turned out fine.
Pooky has been coming out with me lately to enjoy the tolerable mornings.
She was really into it today, sniffing and rolling and rubbing on the grass. But then Penny came back out and said hi and spoiled her alone time. So
Pooky went into her stretch/counter-offensive mode. And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is hope that there's a squirrel up this tree.
