The last 7 days or so
KJ's mom came to visit last Wednesday night. Stayed until Monday morning. We went to the Zoo (pictures forthcoming), The Book House, and a bunch of restaurants. I think everyone had fun. Grandma arrived last week -- she's staying through Thanksgiving -- so they got to meet too.
Classes are proceeding. Not entirely smoothly (especially the Chemistry course), but proceeding. I don't think I was meant to be a chemist.
The other hinge on my laptop is now cracking. It's not really the hinge that's cracking, it's the part where the hinge screws into the bottom, keyboard half of the thing. I have come to believe that the problem is the actual hinge not being properly lubricated or something, and therefore the weak point in the joint is where the hinge screws into the bottom rather than where it's supposed to rotate in the top. Online opinions seem to mostly suggest either using graphite stuff or getting a new laptop (ugh). I don't have the money for a new laptop, otherwise it would be oh-so-tempting to buy a blank, buy Win 95 (or whichever version of Windows was the latest to include Shutdown MS-DOS*) off of Ebay for like $15 (sweet), and then get a megaphone and blow a big fat raspberry in the direction of Microsoft HQ. Even then, I dunno. I've seen a lot of stupid keyboard layouts.
Tiddlywiki is good stuff. Been writing a help packet for my game with that.
Now I am off to pick KJ up from her college, for lunch.
