I am very thankful

that we keep getting the power back intermittently. Even a few hours' electricity will do wonders for the heat, the fridge, the sump pump, our spirits, my Internet time, . . . .

We did indeed wind up going to church this morning. Only about 55 people at service (about half the usual), many of whom had no power when they left their homes. Pastor (whose power was likewise out) made us all sit up front and then apologized for not having a very neat hairdo (I took his word for it). Fittingly, the sermon was about remembering that we are not forsaken, ever, by God. Not even when it seems like AmerenUE has forgotten about us.

Speaking of which, this third wave is supposed to be a doozy. So we may conceivably be knocked out for a few days (or more . . .). But I guess that that's what the computer labs at college are for, right? ;~)

On a slightly different note, the contest at Kellyzkorner is still going. Plenty of time for anyone to get in on it still. This month's contest is a pretty simple one. We have a few other things going on as well--a poll, pie, and the usual stuff too.

kk, weather
