So for a good day...
Today was registration day over the ole community college. Don't laugh, I'm not paying for it, so I definitely don't bitch. Actually, they pay me a bit more to go there. So I got all my classes done for my major (medicolegal death investigation). Don't bother asking me what they do, I have no clue. I don't give a fuck if they stamp the death certificates of everyone in the nation twice, as long as I don't have to stand up all day to do it, or deal with stpid living people, I'm all about it. But the long and the short of it is, four classes, three from six to nine thirty, and the fourth one is on the internet. So I get to keep my sucky job while I do it so I can pay my bills and stuff. So her starts the countdown of me getting a much cooler job.
My cousin (by marriage) came into town today to start her college at Centenary. Went and met with my uncle, his wife and her and somehow got suckered into helping her move her stuff up to her room. They paid me in dinner, so I'm not bitching. Afterward we go outside to leave and there's a storm between me and my house. Not a huge deal, but I'm on the bike and I checked the weather right before I left the house to go meet them. NO STORMS! Not even a slight chance for one. So, I begged off by saying I had to beat the mystical stealth storm to my house. Which worked out well, as I didn't get suckered into helping her arrange said room.
So now, I sit here, getting back in touch with my inner geek by playing a bit of everquest and flipping through the text books for college. Nothing like, nuke, heal, oom, med, oooooh look, pictures of dead people! *eyes go all wide and gets lost in book*
And you will never know the feeling of walking in, booking a full time class schedule, getting books, parking sticker, and walking over to the cashier for the college and have them tell you that you owe them in the arena of fifteen hundred dollars and saying, "no, here's this paper from the government. I am not paying for this, they are." Then smile and walk away. Oh so nice.
