There has been a shooting in a school in Tuusula. 8 dead, 7 students plus the headmistress. A co-worker noticed the news from
verkkouutiset.fi and spread it to the rest of us and we followed the updates for the rest of the day. The whole thing is pretty horrible.
Last Friday: I visited Simo and Juha. They had invited one of their friends plus four Japanese girls (exchange students) over, had made pizza and I arrived just in time to eat leftovers. It was fun to hear the girls talk Japanese. I'd love to be able to actually speak the language, but I'm too lazy to study it. After the girls had left the three of us continued to drink beer and chat and it was all nice. Simo was very drunk. :P
Saturday: Ate very good dinner at Simo's and Juha's once again. Went to Katja's place from there and spent the evening with our usual crowd of four people. Evening began with Katja and Henri trying to answer questions about me in facebook.
K: "No, she hasn't been arrested, don't answer 'yes'."
H: "But you never know, she could have been!"
Err. We ate meatballs and salad and crackers and cheese, played Katja's XBox and watched the movie Shoot 'Em Up which was a bit bad but fun and it was so absurd it made everyone laugh. Both boys went home to sleep which was probably best (no one snoring loudly, thank god) and I very much like talking with Katja just before falling asleep and after having woken up. Couldn't talk freely if there were others there.
Sunday: I visited Design Museum with mum. There was a showing of
Yuki Hayama's cheramic art. Pretty stuff. We went to see the movie Atonement after that and liked it as well. Worth seeing, I think.
Monday: I woke up around 4:30 am because my right ear hurt. Couldn't get back to sleep for an hour or so and decided that I have to go see a doctor. Felt just like the start of an ear infection and I was right, that it was. I get to eat antibiotics once again. No sick leave though, because even if I had a bit of cough and a runny nose, there was no fever. Finally went to see Stardust in the evening by myself.
Tuesday: Saw Kent live for the first time, with Simo and Emilia. The concert wasn't mind-blowing, but very nice still and definitely worth seeing. Heard many favourite songs. Also, their staging was pretty cool. The stage was on three levels so that even the drummer could be seen on the highest of the levels. There were also laser lights that made pretty webs in the air.
Today: The coughing got worse during the concert and now I'm back to a fully-fledged cold. Once again. How long have I been sick, two months? Yes, two months if we count the wisdom teeth removals (had to eat pills for them too). The first was cut out in the middle of September, then I got a flu a week and a half after that. The flu lasted for four weeks. At the end of that period the last wisdom tooth was cut out (in the middle of October). It took me two weeks to get another flu + ear infection. See a pattern there? I just hope this one will go away quicker. I'm starting to be pretty pissed off at having to be sick all the time. :( Hate the coughing.
Henri was firmly of the opinion that I should try to get sick-leave, but I don't know if I'd get anything because I don't have any fever. Decided to have tomorrow off by using the extra hours I've worked instead. I'm fed up with visiting doctors and I have enough of all sorts of medicines. Plus they wouldn't give me a week off which I'd need to really get rid of this cold. One day will be better than nothing and it'll be okay to return to work on Friday. The mood is always most relaxed on those days.
Today it was (jokingly) decided that a barracks building should be raised in the parking lot of the company and the whole service desk should move there. Then we could have a reality TV show made and see who lasts the longest. I think watching us could be pretty entertaining... Some crazy people there are at my work.
