arkangeli's and Juha's housewarming party on Friday was excellent. Lots of good people around. Our group of friends, arflings and Alter Ego members mostly. Also, Juha's exchange student friend Yuuta from Japan. I must have had the longest talk ever with Rico, which wasn't awfully long, but still. :)) He isn't scary when he's drunk and he's actually just as short as I am. Somehow that makes a difference. :P It was difficult to be quiet and talk normally when the time got late - everyone kept shouting and poor hosts had to go around making hushing sounds. We left home around 4 am, I think.
Sanna and Juha stayed at my place until Saturday evening. We took a long walk with the dogs, Maggie and Luna, and it was very nice. I could notice in my leg muscles that I haven't been walking very much lately. After the others left, we watched the FF VII: Last Order and Advent Children with Jutta. Much fun. We also started playing FF XII. Ended up playing all through Sunday as well. We had planned on walking to Mustavuori in the afternoon and have a picnic, but we didn't want to stop playing, and when we would have finally gone out, it started raining heavily. So we didn't go out. I also couldn't be bothered to visit our grocery store, which is next to the house, but made food of shrimps, onion and rice which we had in the apartment already. It turned out pretty good.
The main character in FF XII, Vaan, seems to be pretty much like Tidus in FF X. At least from first impression. Penelo is nice, but not really special. At least she doesn't simper to Vaan. Balthier rocks! Cool, confident, funny and intelligent. Also pretty. His partner Fran has a bit strange voice. Don't know what to think of her yet otherwise either. Basch, the bearded guy, seems like a sympathetic person. Want to see how things develop with him.
Jutta will go back to Turku this week and we have to have a pause in the gaming. It is too bad. Luckily there is
arkangeli to save me from boredom. We started playing Shadow of Colossus yesterday and managed to kill four monsters, two each. It is fun and challenging! The controls were a bit difficult to learn, but I started getting the hang of it when we had to stop. The idea of the game is to find and kill these colossus-like monsters and then the male main character can save a girl's life. You have to hang on to the monsters' hair and climb up their bodies and then stab them to their weak point until they're dead. If you fall down, you have to climb back up. The monsters are like puzzles and you have to discover the way to bring them all down. It can be strangely addicting.
That's enough game-babble. Tomorrow there is a showing for a house we'd again very much like to rent, so keep your thumbs up for us! Joe will go and check it out and then we'll apply and hope there are not too many people competing with us. Wah.
