Okay. Friend's hen night a week ago went well. We ate good food, drank a bit of champagne, made her watch a silly play about the course of her life, gave her random cosmetic treatments and we bathed in the sauna. It was all very nice. Her baby boy slept almost all through the evening, he woke up only once to eat. He behaves amazingly well every time I see him! The friend made me hold him in my lap and it was slightly scary (probably the first time I've ever held a baby). But he was cute. And you know that I don't have any deep affections towards babies in general, so that's saying something.
I ended up sneaking in to mum's apartment in the middle of the night to get some sleep. We'd been at a friend's parents' house and it's practically next to mum's, so it was better to go there than try to get home. She gave me food too the next day which was an added bonus.
I visited home very briefly before getting in a train bound for Turku. In Turku there was drinking of beer with Harry and Joe, going out to sit on grass near the river with the two and Sanna and Juha and the dogs, some more beer and random passers-by stopping and commenting the dogs (I almost wrote 'gods' just now).
After having had enough of fresh air we returned to Joe's. There was supposed to be a movie on TV (Name of the Rose) but it came from a channel that we couldn't see, so. Too bad. We opened Joe's vodka bottle instead and proceeded to chat and drink. After maybe three shots Sanna suggested going out clubbing to Dynamo and we decided to go. There were shots at three different bars before we made it to Dynamo. Shots are good in the way that they don't cost awfully much and it doesn't take long to drink them. :P I should've been totally drunk by then, but for some reason I wasn't. I could think pretty clearly and I wasn't a giggling wreck. The only thing that made me notice the drunkenness was the slight staggering at some points and the horrible touchy-feelyness. :P I normally wouldn't cling to Harry in public (makes me uncomfortable because I think it makes others uncomfortable... long story) but right then I didn't care. Oh well.
We went dancing with Sanna in Dynamo. It was fun! Joe joined us a bit later too. I didn't buy any drinks there anymore, just danced until everyone was driven out around 2:30 am. We were walking back home when we suddenly decided to stop at The Church and lie down on the grassy hill. Some people did somersaults down the hill. Juha and Harry rolling down, trying to do a somersault together, was perhaps the most hilarious sight I saw that night. :D
We didn't get home quite yet then. Juha got an idea that we should go swimming in Samppalinna, an open-air swimming pool place. Apparently it's a tradition for medical students to go swimming there at least once. We walked to Samppalinna and had to climb up an awful amount of stairs. Us girls walked together, arms around each other and confessing our love for each other while totally out of breath. :D We made it to the fence around the swimming pools and we crawled under it, but didn't get any further until someone saw a guard and we had to go quickly to the other side again and walk away. We didn't get to swim after all which was a small disappointment, but maybe it was better that way...
After that we finally walked back home and everyone was pretty tired. We were in bed around 5 am. Yay.
On Sunday we went to Inkoo with Harry to feed his family's bunny. I slept almost all through the car ride. We didn't have time to do much before I had to go back home. We watched an episode of Carnivàle and napped for an hour (you can guess I was tired) while The Crash played in the background. Harry drove me to Kirkkonummi in the evening and I got back home with a local train that was really cheap. Nice!
This week I've been very busy at work. Yesterday was maybe the worst when at some point I was trying to do three different things at a time (making Windows update itself on one laptop, doing other things with another laptop and installing software to a communicator cell phone). Phew. But I still sort of like the work. Besides, I got to borrow a Windows Vista Beta 2 installation cd and I got to take a hard drive with me (it would've gone to trash otherwise) and now I can test the new Windows! If I'm ever home long enough to have time to install it, that is. *facepalm*
Yesterday I tried waxing my legs for the first time (for hair removal). It was slow going, at least now that I'm still learning the technique - It took me an hour to do one leg (below the knee) - but it didn't really hurt much at all. I think I could start doing it regularly.
Lunch time! Movie later in the evening (The Empire of Wolves) and friend's wedding tomorrow!
