why doesn't anyone talk about the lemonheads anymore?
i bought "come on feel the lemonheads" on tape a couple weeks ago in south dakota because the car kev and i were using didn't have a cd player, and it rules.
seriously, "into your arms," why did people ever stop listening to this?
in other news, michigan was a lot of fun. the drive there was longer than expected because of all the construction.
ben and maranda's wedding was beautiful. it was outside at this really nice log cabin that the owners built themselves. both of their mothers gave really cute speaches. the ground was muddy from all the rain and i wore white heels anyway and sunk into the ground all afternoon which resulted in limited hilarity but quite a bit of ankle discomfort afterwards. oh, and the afterparty was awesomeeeeeee. i enjoyed the crap outta those drink tickets.
i just turned around and looked out the window and the neighbors must have a fucking huge tv because all i can see is charles bronson's enormous face in their window. creepy.
so the drive home from michigan was so friggin long. first we went an hour out of the way because we were talking some really intense nonsense about pretty much everything. then we got back on track and decided we should check out detroit because.. we hadn't before. it was ridiculous. my best explanation is that it's like NORTH north philly, except with wayyyyyy less people. it was almost abandoned, but still managed to be a total ghetto somehow. it was creepy and we didn't get to hang out with eminem OR roboocop, so fuck detroit. after that, every highway in ohio was closed for some type of crazy reason, which i can only assume is because ohio is hell. i got a speeding ticket, my first ever, from an incredibly polite man in sandusky, ohio, who seemed to have no personal qualms with my doing 90 on the turnpike. we ended up having to stay over at a red roof inn somewhere in western pennsylvania because we were both falling asleep.
left western pennsylvania at like noon and didn't get back into philadelphia until around 5. i've never been so happy to be at 75th and Ogontz before in my life.
this summer is something, so far. the next week will be dedicated to job hunting mixed with incredibly inconvenient medical procedures. sounds like a partaaaaaayyyyyyy. the good thing is that in between drinking chalk to make sure i don't have an ulcer and begging people to pay me for mundane tasks, i'll have the bouncing souls show AND sonic youth.
wawa time.
