Today's update :)

Is anybody else having trouble accessing LJ? At my home computer I can get the home page, just can't view any journals...I deleted cookies the other day. Any suggestions from the more technically inclined?

We went to the Fire Beacon Inn on Saturday and what a fun event! The fencing was good (and watch for a repeat performance of the nefarious contraption at Sven the Gardner), if late. We only had 4 people come for the Championship. I know Elise's car had issues, as in an expired sticker :), and I am wondering if Donald's drive fell through, but I do wonder about Pietro. And I don't think he has been champion yet, he was a defender a couple of years ago. Nothing against our finalists, but they both already had the title. I always like to see it go to someone new if possible. And no, it would not have been me. I am not that good to defeat both Gruffyd and Lachlan. I knew who would be in the finals when I saw the list and entrants day of.

I must say Kudos to the organizers and the kitchen staff! I really liked the tavern format. I know there was a couple of glitches, but that is expected the first time you try something and nothing disrupting to the event, luckily. It was nice as a fencer to have the choice of when to get some food. I got to have a hearty snack in the middle of the tourney and Preston, who does not like to eat duriing an activity could wait until the end. Even then you got food really quickly.

And finally my book arrived from Amazon!!! I ordered it in April, before the release date. I am never doing that again. Geez, 2 months for a brand new book. Guess I shouldn't complain, it is sock book number 4 :). You'd think I had enough by now. I haven't stopped to actually count how many knitting books I own now, some things are better not to know. So much to knit and so little time.
