It's amazing.
More than anything else I really appreciate all the time I now have for reading.
EVERYTHING I've picked up has been able to stimulate my mind in a useful way. When it stops I put it down and switch topics. Often I come back to it and the next thing I read is more valuable than it would have been had I kept reading in the earlier moment.
Serendipity is the fruit of seeds sown earlier and seems to perpetuate itself.
I consider myself so incredibly lucky because I have been blessed not only with discovering the means by which ANY person, even starting from terrible misfortune, can improve their lot AND having been given every advantage I can conceive of.
You might say, "well, what if you were a bit taller, or had a just a bit more money, or this, or that, or the other." And to that I say that the greatest blessing is to have "enough" and not too much. There is an exquisite balance in what I've been gifted with and I have trouble imagining it being improved by "more".
I am so incredibly blessed. The best I can do is to try to live well enough to have deserved it.
I suspect that the Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. would urge me to fight so that all people can enjoy so many of the blessings I so often take for granted.
May his memory be a blessing and a call to action for us all.
