Well, I have to say, my life got a little crazier (but a lot nicer) this past weekend. I finally bought my new car on Friday - a loaded 2006 Corolla S. It's blue (dark indigo) and sexy, for sure :) On Saturday, I got my acceptance letter from UC for their PhD. program. I am soooooo excited! Yes, I'll be in school indefinitely, but that's ok - this is something that I really want to do. This also means that I get to keep my GA position (and I even get a raise in my stipend!), which is very nice. The weekend was also a lot of fun: party Friday, hanging out with Marcus (and learning how to drive his car!) Saturday, dinner with Allison and movie night Sunday, and bowling (instead of Murphy's) Monday.
Right now I'm on spring break. I'm not really doing too much - my mom's here, and we're just kinda hanging out. Today is spa day, which consists of pedicures and facials at Aveda :) My feet are in such terrible shape - this will be so great. We're driving home tomorrow and bringing my brother back on Saturday so he can pick up my old car - I think he's as excited as I am. I kinda wish that I had had more time to myself this week, especially since my roommate is outta here until tonight (she left Sunday), but I suppose I'll live.
1) 10 years ago what did you think you would be doing now?
2) Where do you think you will be in 5 years from now?
3) Do you live life one day at a time or look to the future?
4) Do you wish you could go back in time and undo something in your life?
5) If you could send a message back in time and give a younger version of yourself some advice, what would it be?
Answers:
1) I thought I would be in med school. In the end, though, I think I'm on the better track.
2) Hopefully done with my PhD and out doing what I want to do (and thus paying off my student loans).
3) Look to the future, so much, I think, that sometimes I lose sight of what's going on at the moment.
4) Who doesn't?
5) Work hard and play hard.
Alright, I'm of to get ready (shower, walk T., etc). More later, I'm sure.
