[Drabble Fic] Freddy's Alarm

May 14, 2010 10:45

Just another drabble to keep my mind occupied... It also helps flesh out characters.

Freddy's Room Description

The room is maybe two-thirds the size of a master bedroom. The walls are painted a light green but it's hard to see that through all the schematics he has put up on the walls. Among the technical drawings, he has a bunch of his inventions dangling off the walls. There are several pairs of night-vision goggles he built himself. He has a small bed, next to which is his work desk that is littered in tools, paper, and writing utensils. There is an overhead light, but it's generally kept off since he prefers to work by the light of his desk lamp. There is a shredder next to his desk, filled to the brim with scrapped ideas. There is a bookshelf standing next to the door that also has his alarm clock on it.

Drabble Fic - Freddy's Alarm

It was almost finished. Freddy just had to put the finishing touches on his little rig. It was a very simple device, so it didn't take him long to get everything just right. When it was ready, it was past midnight and he wasn't supposed to be awake. He had to keep his giggles in as he packed everything he would need into a little sack. He slung the bag over his shoulder before donning his latest pair of night-vision goggles. He needed to test them anyway since they were practically fresh off of the desk.

He'll never see it coming... Frederick thought to himself as he stalked down the hallway to the stairs. Once he was on the ground floor, he looked around, making sure that the coast was clear. Only one more obstacle lay between him and actually putting his new gadget into use: Vlad's constantly locked door. He chuckled softly when he reached into his bag to pull out a lock pick. He'd been practicing opening the lock for the past few nights, so it only took him a minute or so to have the door click open.

Freddy knew his brother liked keeping his room dark, it was easier to sleep. Vlad's room was the darkest part of the house because there were no windows to let in moon or starlight. The boy adjusted his goggles to maximize his ability to see in this pitch black environment. He got to his hands and knees to descend the stairs carefully and quietly. It would take him longer to get down there, but the risk of accidentally waking the sleeping bear would be lessened. Once he reached the nightstand where the alarm clock waited, he unpacked his bag, paying close attention to Vladimir's loud snoring, just in case he was waking up.

----

BEEP! Splash!

"Ack!" Vladimir rubbed his face, feeling cold liquid on his skin. The alarm beeped again, more water shot at it his face out of nowhere. "Fuck!" he groaned, quickly rolling out of bed and turning off his alarm. Once he had turned his lamp on, he could see clearly what happened. There was a little chip-like object attached to his clock. A similar one was on the wall, attached to a squirt gun. "Freddy!!!"
