A conversation between me, a musical theatre major, and a non-drama major at Syracuse:
Non-drama major: You guys have a midterm?! But I though you were in theatre...
Me: yeah of course we have a midterm. We actually have to study. We learn too.
Non-drama major: Well what do you guys study?
Me: Well, our midterm is about Aristotle's theory on Poetics. It's for our Intro to Theatre class.
Non-drama major: Shut up! Why'd you guys learn philosophy?
Me: Are you serious?! Aristotle is most famous for his Poetics, which relate directly to theatre. His
theories are about theatre. That's one of the main reasons he became a famous philosopher.
Non-drama major: Oh, my bad. I just thought you guys just played around and shit. I didn't know that you actually had
work.
GGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
I HATE when people think this.
Yes, we do actually learn shit....really important "shit" in fact
