Dumb thoughts (well, mostly one)
So, I am a Starcraft nerd. Totally. I am even more nerdy than most, because I watch competitive Starcraft 2 and I've never played it. At all.
Thus, I bring to people's attention a question of life and death importance: which Scrabble player is like what Starcraft 2 personality?
You can start facepalming now, and yes, I know this is ridiculously bad but who cares. So I'll start out with some:
Jesse M: wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Artosis - I can *so* see Jesse doing the handgun. And be vegan after telling me he *wanted* to eat the Naam. Own a blind and deaf ferret, we'll see.
Cesar: wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Clide - I have seen Clide throw away multiple games after being in an insurmountable lead. He also goes neurotic when he reviews himself later in Korean interviews. Plus, he is mad talented and has looked like a world-beater. Kind of like a guy we know who's led his division in NSC in one of the first two days... twice.
Dielle: wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/KellyMILKIES - listen to her broadcast - it is eerie (content and enthusiasm-wise). That, and she's also pretty.
Jesse D: http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft/Tasteless - anyone who is born in France, raised in the US and is totally laid-back is a pretty good match. Add in some crazy stories, some funny but sort of bad jokes and the likeness grows. Finally, Artosis and Tasteless are self-claimed 'hetero life partners'. So damn, does the shoe fit.
Gab: http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Junkka - the third member of the Jesse posse... plus, John the Translator does *everything* on the show it seems, from translate to interview to organize broadcasts. Sounds a lot like our take-charge violinist. Though, if I wanted someone with total skills, I'd pick http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/MarineKing . Can hang with the best, can beat the top champions, but always finds a way to stumble, particularly against people you least expect... but then, Betty Schulman and Yukari almost beat me too.
XP and KC: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lim_Yo-Hwan and http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=120383 - the legend and a total celebrity. An awesome actress who is great at the game in her own right. Crazy tales, the ability to be mentor to some of the world's best players, and an eye for the important underscore their skills.
Conrad: http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/MMA - read XP. Nuff said. And MMA is crazy good.
Noah: http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/LoSirA - unflappable in games, completely silly outside them, looks like he could be 12 for all I know... another odds-on match. Even the hair colors are kind of alike!
Kenji: http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft/IdrA - mad skills? Check. Ability to win everything? Check. Interested in going out there to further dialogue about the games they're passionate about? Check. Actually a really nice guy in person? Check. Can implode in tournaments, do the Scrabble equivalent of ragequit and potentially create rivalries with other top players by virtue of statements that, while they may be true, may be a little too blunt for others to accept? Check. I like watching the Gracken, I like watching Ken-G, and I think the game would be totally incomplete without this individual.
Evans: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Husky_%28commentator%29 - Tall, funny, goofy, goofy-looking (yes, I am too, but that allows me to be an expert on commenting on this), hyper, and an enthusiastic caster/recapper of his favorite game... the similarities continue. Plus, I'd help rent a Lambo to see Evans do this! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzMhh8zhTiY (I still love how I showed this to Jesse Day and he didn't recognize the guy he'd played bridge with for years in it...)

So, any thoughts from others? Maybe from other fields that you're more into? I can see a lot of Scrabble players having parallels to, say, chess players, characters from Seinfeld, judges on Iron Chef...
