Wichita Update

Lots of stuff going on here in Wichita.  I'm not sure where to start, so I'll just throw it all out there.

I have started up my Brettonians.  I have about 1500 pts right now if I push it.  Also, just got involved in a fantasy campaign at the gaming shop thats based on the border princes campaign.  It's just for beginners, but since I haven't "really" played since 5th edition, I figured this would be a good place to start.  So far I have 1 pegasus knight, 1 duke, 1 damsel, about 14 Knights of the realm, 8 knights errant, 1 trebuchet, and 10 bowmen.  I'm planning on theming this army after the region of Moussilan (sp), but since I haven't painted anything yet, we'll see how far that goes.

We are getting involved with the youth ministry at church.  Michelle is heading up the Welcome Ministry which is to help new kids get linked up with other kids, and I'm just doing general help out stuff.  I am helping with the media ministry at church, which basicly means that I run the projector that has the songs for worship and then the powerpoint that the pastor uses.  I'm really torn on this right now because when I first volunteered to help, it was because they just needed help cause they lost 1 person, however, it seems that I may be called to run the entire ministry.  Right now, no one is running it.  As it was described to me, it runs itself.  When I mentioned this to the youth pastor, he was a little shocked.  Right now I'm praying about what direction I'm supposed to go with this.  Hopefully God gives me an answer soon, cause that department needs help and if it's going to be my job, I need to get started rofl, but all in His time I guess.

I've gotten involved with a great men's bible study that meets on Monday nights.  We are studying Genesis right now, but last night we ended up all over the place.  I'm really enjoying it, but unfortunately in the fall I may have to quit for a while because...

...I'm going back to class.  I think I mentioned this, but its official.  I'm registered and my classes are paid for.  I'm taking 4 classes, and 1 of them is online, so should be fun.

Lastly, we have added another child to our family.  His name is Daniel "Bama" and he was saved about 3 months ago, and has a really bad family situation.  It's his senior year in high school and he really needed a motivating force to keep him in line both in school and his Christian walk.  Normally I would never let someone I barely know move in with us, but God really softened my heart and now he lives with us.  He's a real answer to prayer though, as both Michelle and I both felt that more kids were in our future, but since we couldn't have more ourselves (self-imposed by both parties), we didn't know what form this would take.  Now we have an extra 17 year old.

So thats that for now.  More updates to come hopefully.  God Bless.
