A few FE questions real quick. In FE8 what is known about religion in Grado? A Sole Desire was originally supposed to involve much more religion, but didn't because I really don't know. I'm assuming it's modeled after Christianity?
Anyone know of any FE7 fics that are character driven fics about Lyn? I'm totally hankering for some Ethnic Studies-y influenced work. Because Lyn is totally the last of her people, a total fish out of water (aka "exotic, savage, etc.") and winds up ruling Caelin anyway despite all the prejudice. Especially want to see some appropriation shit going on ("let's civilize her!" because I'm sure that happens at some point). I'm not too familiar with what's in the FE7 fic canon, but I went through all the pages that have Lyn tagged on FF.n. The only fic I really remember dealing with this kind of thing was... Uh... It was Kent/Lyn fic involving Lyn being called a savage and Kent come sin and... does something nice and Kent-like. >.< Real descriptive, I know.
Rec me a fic like that and I will shower love upon you, or will try and write/draw you something if you so desire. Otherwise, I'm tempted to just head over to
sacae 's microfic and try...
Anyyyyways...
New
Bleach op is awesome. Like the song and via stalking the Ulquihime comms, I have now been convinced of its awesomeness. I am now in love with that last bit with Orihime and the handreach. I really want to see that scene animated.
Did a
psychoanalysis meme from
sacae , and LOL. My sexual desire is as vast as an ocean, but my sex life is of pretty much no importance to me. XDDDDD
Hosted prospective students two days in row; they were all awesome.
Also, realized that I like reading journals that are informative about something. My journal totally does not fit the bill. *sigh*
In an attempt to write something of relevance. Kinda.
In Amer Lit today we were talking about how to determine what is canon writing post 1970s, and what would you consider canon pieces after that era.
Well, totally realized I read popular fiction and not Deep and Meaningful Fiction. Pretty much all I've read within memory that even possibly fit the bill was The Color Purple and Temple of My Familiar by Alice Walker, Maxine Hong Kingston's The Woman Warrior, The Laramie Project, and Fahrenheit 451. I must now go and try to mean meaningful work. *sigh* However, Octavia Butler came up in class and I looked her up just now. I totally need to read her; WoC writing fantasy/scifi? I'm down for that; especially if it involves vampires. (Of course, I'd seen Parable of Sowers by her on the shelf at the library for years, and never read it)
