Hair experiment part three

Nov 28, 2011 14:03

I'm currently under a lot of stress. However I wanted to document my final hair experiment here ;).
Same procedure like last time.
After the bleaching I STILL could see some orange in my wet hair which really really REALLY annoyed me *~*.
However after I was through with the coloring I was really delighted ;). Somehow the bleaching must have gotten the orange light enough so that the blonde coloring could somewhat cover it well. I didn't see much orange at all anymore after I washed the coloring out.
My dry hair makes a more blonde than orange impression now and the difference between the hairline and the rest of the hair doesn't look that drastic anymore.
Still it is no "clean" blonde, it looks more like a reddish blonde - as if there's still some light orange hue shimmering through the blonde.
I'm very satisfied with this color, though. No henna red anymore, no annoying NEON orange...
I regard this experiment as finished and won't damage my hair any further.
I can definitely confirm that it is NOT easy to remove henna from your hair, the red pigments are indeed very very persistant and if you don't want to completely destroy your hair and use a bit milder bleaching products it will take you some time to get it out.
I'm not sure if I would recommend what I did to anyone.
If you are not the experimental type and can't live with walking around with orange hair for a while: stay away from it ;).
It's also not healthy for your hair to bleach it several times (which is obviously necessary) and if you can't live with getting a Pixie cut in an emergency case: stay away from it ;).
Meanwhile my hair IS dry and feels delicate, somewhat thinner here and there.
My treatment now, after the third bleaching & coloring:
- hair washing only every second day
- NO shampooing
- instead sleeping with deep conditioner on dry hair and rinsing it out under the shower the next morning
Have to say after the first night with deep conditioner the hair already feels much better, but I will continue with this "hair recovery program" for a while to see HOW healthy my hair can become again after this torture ;).
And yeah, in any case, if I feel my hair should need it in the next days > CUT, har har har
