About... karma?

Should be preparing for my law presentation tomorrow, but I really don't feel like working. Really should because I still have the second half of my speech to write and memorise and a powerpoint to do.

Shortly after my last post, several things happened that made me realise just how ephemeral happiness is. We don't spend the majority of our lives being happy. Nor do we spend it being sad. We spend it neither happy nor sad, anticipating the next fleeting moment of felicity or dreading the next fleeting moment of dysphoria. We are compelled to commit these moments to memory or on paper not really because we cherish the good moments and wish to have an emotional outlet for the bad. We document them because they are different and interject the humdrum of our ordinary lives with some extraordinary emotion. They remind us of the good and the even better things in life. I say thank God for the bad bits because without them, ordinary life would be unbearable; people would mistakenly think they're sad all the time.

And that truly truly would be sad.
