First of all, thanks for the supportive responses to my post last month. I've obviously been under a lot of stress this semester. Just typing that entry helped a lot. And like I said, it's not that I'm down all the time, it's that the mood swings have been extreme, and rather frequent. Buffy may have made me cry, but I've also been laughing harder at the jokes. So as long as I don't let the downs get out of control and hold myself together, it should all be good.
The big news today is that I mailed the application for Ash's visa. It took more than two months of emailing lots of people and running around China, but it finally got sent. Now we just have to wait... DHS should receive it this week (they'll email me when it arrives), then we have to wait about for months for them to go through all the paperwork and send it to the embassy in China. They'll contact us and set up a date for an interview, which will be another 2-4 month wait. However, after the interview, if she's approved, she'll get her visa immediately. All in all, we're looking at having the results 5-8 months from now. That's a long wait, and it could push her coming to the US back until September (we were hoping to move over together in July.)
So we wait.
In the meantime, life is pretty laid back in Hangzhou. Teach, study, knit. Repeat. I've been focusing on knitting in the evenings and my other free time, since I'm afraid I won't have enough warm clothes and other items to get me through the winter. So I've been spending lots of time surfing Ravelry as well. The only problem is that Chinese internet sucks, and for some reason more and more photos uploading on Flickr won't load for me. It makes it difficult to see what patterns looks like, or other people's projects. Even though I can go to Flickr and upload photos myself... the moment it is uploaded to their server, I can't see the photo anymore. It's really silly. And it also means that while I'm sure
akasha111182 always posts awesome and amusing photos... I can't see any of them. :(
I want to write more about music, and movies, and exams and whatnot, but I think it'll have to wait until next time. I want to finish this round of the entrelac hat I'm making. Later, all.
