There and back again...

A tale of a Ris.

Thursday was a nightmare. Friday was like living on a rage hangover. Saturday morning, I was too busy running to the Metro station to stop and think about how I was feeling. I had a wedding to attend!
I must admit, after Thrusday, I was tempted to stay home. But then I thought it would be terribly rude of me, and, more importantly, I really wanted to see Laura and Jim again, and to be there when they said "I do" and stuff.
I got on the bus. My suit was in a plastic bag and I had to hang it from a litle thingie beside my seat, and it was hot like hell.
Then the lady who was sitting just before me decided she wanted to lay back, and she did. My legs were mercilessly crushed by that shrew, and when I politely told her if she could (please) put her seat's back (please) in a more comfortable position for me too (please) she told me it was not her problem my legs were long, and that "maybe I should cut them so I could fit in the bus". I can't even begin to say how outraged I felt. She kept mumbling to herself for like ten minutes. Normally, I would have jumped on her, bit her head off and stab her fat, insolent face with a pen. But I was not in the mood, so I just looked away and tried to ignore it.
Until the tire exploded. Or whtever.
An hour and a half waiting beside the road for another bus to come and take us to Valencia.

I arrived to Valencia feeling quite miserable. Got to the hotel (a beautiful one, at that). The ladies at the reception give me my electronic key, but it wouldn't work, and I had to go up to my room and back to Reception three times until I could get into my room.
Then I noticed it was a double room, with two beds and I kinda crumbled a bit, but managed to maintain my dignity... Until the couple next door started fucking noisily. That was a bit too much and I must admit I cried a bit. I was tired, nervous and sad, it was not a good moment.

Fortunately it all started getting better: I stumbled into Jim in the aisle! It had been like, I don't know, 4 years? since we met. He looked really different, and I think i did too. I'm afraid I was a bit cold, because I felt sweaty and dirty and had planned to go on a fast incursion to the nearby McDonald's to get a salad, because I hadn't had the time to eat anything since the day before. I could only think about the salad and a cool shower, and I kinda felt ashamed of how i was looking, all tired and unshaven. Plus all the stress made my skin hate me with a passion or something. So I gave him a hug and almost ran away. Sorry =(

I ate my salad, I had a shower, and I was feeling better. I looked at myself in the mirror and I liked (I always do) how suits look on me, so, being the human peacock I am, I felt reaaaally better.
Got to the hall, and it was full of well-dressed Duth people. I saw a familiar face, and yes, it was Juli! It was so nice meeting her, she's really sweet. And her boyfriend is a super nice guy! Thank Gawd they were there, because that way we were together in our "oh my god I don't know anyone here" situation.
An aunt of Jim was really nice, kept talking with us and being charming, and introduced us to a really nice couple. His name sounded like "Fede", and his girlfriend's name... I can't remember. I'm a disaster when it comes to names, let alone strange names. Apparently they were going to Granada and then to Madrid. Really nice people.

The ceremony was moving, and the gardens where it took place were really cool. Laura and Jim both looked lovely in their matching-color suit and dress. It was all so ellegant, I don't know.

I have to go to bed, so I'll resume:

·Juli's face when she saw the jamón serrano leg, and Daniel's (it was Daniel, right?) taste for it.
·The "where is table 6?" situation and the Maître From Hell.
·"I can't believe I have eaten a pig's cheek!!!"
·Both Machester guys were really nice. One of them told me I look exactly like Michael Wincott, something I've heard like a thousand times. It was fun.
·Jim's ex-colleague: a really nice guy, with a really nice sense of humour. His wife was charming, too! We had a nice conversation.
·Laura's best friend, Sara, and her boyfriend. Really fun people, I was joking with them all the way back to the hotel.
·That drunk man who got angry at us because we were speaking about world domination, obviously kidding.
·Today: spent reading at a park, lying on the grass. Cool.

So thank you, Jim and Laura. It was beautiful. More later!
