Art and Patty, NaNo-style (I.e., This time there'll be a plot)

Oct 27, 2008 17:12

So, November is... argh, FOUR days away!

Bloody hell. Where did the year go? Oh that's right... TOD stole it, what with all his talk of making Christmas puddings and shopping for presents. :D

So, I was planning on doing NaNoWriMo this year! The "National Novel Writing Month". Heard of it? It's when aspiring authors sign up here and then they try to ( Read more... )

yeah, I'm doing NaNoWriMo too, and I actually am doing an original novel.

So, Art and Patty, huh? Well, let me see... it always seemed to me that Art was much too complacent for someone with such a quirky personality. He needs to leave - go on the road maybe, or head for some big festival or something. Patty will want to stay behind initially because his mother and family need him, but in the end, he can't stand the idea that Art might just get completely lost, or get taken advantage of - or something!- and so he ends up going with Art on the road trip from hell.

*shrugs* that's all I got. I am finding it difficult enough to think of my own plot. LOL.

oh, and Kathy is also doing it. her userid is aandune2 (yes, someone already got her username!)

Yay! I'm so glad you're still planning on doing it!

And Kathy too...? My, my, November is shaping up to be quite the month!

I like it... Art could run away and join the circus!

What's your novel going to be about? Any ideas? And Kathy? Is she going to be a NaNo-rebel like me and do her "Totem Child" story?

Either way, we shall have to keep each other motivated with much... taunting! I mean, 'encouragement'. :D

Yes, Kathy is doing Totem Child, little rebel that she is. :-) I am writing a story about a family who goes back to rebuild their lives in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. *sigh* It's a long shot, but I am just writing what I know. :-)

Well, tell her that there's a forum for NaNo rebels! I just found it. :D

Well, you've lived in New Orleans, haven't you? That's gotta count for something! Sounds good, though. A story that should be told, even if fictional. :D

Yeah, the husband turns into an alcoholic, the wife kicks him out, the daughter gets depressed and drops out of high school and the wife copes by being obsessed with writing fan fiction and dreaming about Johnny Depp :D So yeah, fiction.

Wow, Sharon, you're so inventive! (Hey, writing what you know is always a great idea. And the story of Johnny Depp obsession, well, any story of Johnny Depp obsession--it needs to be told. :D )

*little does BB know, but next year she shall be roped into doing NaNo, lured with sweets and... sweet talk, and she will be none the wiser as to how she got there, sitting in front of a blank screen come November first!*

And why are you not participating? *glares* Okay, so you have small children and are writing a thesis... what kind of excuse is that? :D

lol Actually, I'm not participating because I have to write a livelongnmarry fic in November and I anticipate it will only be around 30K. Though maybe I should join on the off chance it grows. Especially since all of my stuff grooooooows.
