holy shit. do I have stories to tell.

Starting with two weeks ago today, I went up north for what will most likely be the last time to their house, since they're selling it and moving to florida for the winters, and who knows where they're going to live during the summer, cause it probably won't be there (too hot).  Anyways, that was an alright time.

Then the week after that was pretty busy. Starting on Thursday, almost right after work, I went up to Oshkosh for a (surprise) visit to Becky before she left Africa. The surprise went fairly well I think, even though it felt a little akward at first, like maybe I shouldn't have done it. Friday I did a huge campaign for both the Intonation Festival and Dane Cook's new show, Tourgasm. Took me nearly 9 hours, which is a new record. All went pretty well though, more on that later.  And as a surprise, I won tickets to Atmosphere at the Barrymore. The show was absolutely awesome. Some people say that rap/hip hop shows are boring, blah blah...but they put on a better show than a lot of rock bands I've seen, so yeah. Half the set was just Slug and Ant, and then the band came in for the second half of the set.  Awesome.

Then Saturday was of course Warped Tour, which deserves its own paragraph. We (my cousin and I) showed up about 1, and like every year, it started at noon. So we missed The Academy Is... and The Bled, no big deal. Walked around for a bit, watched Saves The Day and Motion City. Hung out some more, met Saves The Day, got a pic taken with Chris and Dave.  Then caught the end of the Gym Class Heroes set, and shortly after was their acoustic set. That was really sweet, Travis' voice was all fucked, so a lot of the singing parts were done via audience participation. Right after that got done, Thursday was on, so we rushed over to their stage to catch nearly all of their performance. For whatever reason, they don't really do it for me like they used to. I did enjoy watching them live again and hear a couple new songs live. After they were done we had some downtime to get some food, meet Rise Against, and brace ourselves for the brutality that is Every Time I Die, my most anticipated performance of the day.  They brought their great live show as always, and caused me a nearly 24 hour headache...as always. Definitely worth it though. After their set came the only scheduling conflict of the day, ETID signing and Rise Against on the main stage at 7:30. shit. Ended up seeing Rise Against, who played a lot of personal favorites (other than "Heaven Knows"). After that NOFX closed out the show and it was finally time to go home

Last week I got put on a mowing route at work. I know you're out of the loop since I haven't really been updating much, but this is big/good news. With the exception of 2 weeks, I'd been on the garbage truck since late April. Now I get to ride around on a lawn mower downtown, near campus and next to the lake and bike paths. ooh tough. Monday and Tuesday were 13 hour days on about 6 hours of sleep. not cool. I got really burned out by Wednesday, and ended up going home after an hour because of extreme tiredness.

thursday night was a promotion at the Annex for The Stills. It was ok I suppose. Funniest moment of the night was when Ben (a guy I work with) showed up, and ordered me a glass of water from the other side of the bar. What a gentleman.

Friday night, fun as hell. Went down to the Union at about 6, had a few beers by the lake, and then went to the critically acclaimed Plaza for a burger and some cheese curds. It was ok, nothing special. Anyways, I made the decision that I was going to stay downtown minus my friends that I came with despite the fact that A.) I had no ride home, and B.) had no one else to hang out with at The Red Shed of all places until Emily got there. after she arrived we headed over to the Karaoke Kid to meet up with Beccah once again, seeing as it was her birthday celebration. Got out of there pretty damn quick, and it was back over to Brothers, then found greg and we went to the KK for some reason. Next thing I know, the three of us are walking from the KK to Greg's house (longest walk ever), and Bailey was waiting for us somewhere with Toppers sticks. Coolest thing ever. Made it back there, not even sure what time we went to bed, I think it was about 3:30 the last time I looked at the clock.

Saturday didn't do a whole as a result of Friday night. Worked for a little while then went to the Mallards game., which was fun for the most part. Ran into Emily (different one that I work with), and invited her over to our house for some hang time and drinking. Lots of fun times were had.

Today I woke up to the kitchen being a warzone from the night before. Took about 45 miin-hour to clean up, and then got ready for the Intonation Festival in Chicago. Unenthused (possibly due to previous nights activities), Kristina and I left at about noon, showed up at maybe 3-ish without ever once getting lost or making a wrong turn (stellar). Met up with Jim, one of my "bosses" at the Street Syndicate (the reason I even went to this thing), as well as "synners" from Chicago and Milwaukee, very cool to feel like its actually a team effort with this thing. Anyways, saw Rhymefest, Annie, Lupe Fiasco...all of which were not impressive, and then saw The Sword, who was impressive. We walked around for a little bit, talked with Jim and Vanessa (milwaukee synner), and rolled out....so we could go to Gameworks. booya. ate some bowl-like potato skins (brilliant!) and tried to find video games that were even worth playing. They took out the drum simulator, which is bullshit. best game they had. Traffic was kind of a bitch on the way home, but we made it.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited for what this summer could bring.
