When i was young, i taught I'm such a weird ass kid. I always ask my dad how to spell this and that. In my 2nd grade,i wrote BOG instead of DOG. Its hard for me recognize left and right. When to add S if its plural or singular. He and she. In and On. Geez, i cant even compose a paragraph without one or more wrong spelled word. Then Ive learned that i have this thing called dyslexia. Below are some symptoms of Dyslexia.
Changing or reversing shapes and sequences of letters or numbers Incorrect/ inconsistent spelling Seeing letters and numbers move, disappear, grow or shrink Difficulty making speech sounds Accused of not listening properly Poor sense of direction Difficulty with handwriting Inability to sit still or maintain attention for long (ADD) Inability to learn math Difficulty telling time or being on time Criticized for daydreaming difficulties with organizing
themse lves difficulty following 2- or 3-step
instructio ns.
They say that most dyslexics will exhibit about 10 of the following traits and behaviors.
Appears bright, highly intelligent, and articulate but unable to read, write, or spell at grade level.
Labelled lazy, dumb, careless, immature, "not trying hard enough," or "behavior problem."
Isn't "behind enough" or "bad enough" to be helped in the school setting.
High in IQ, yet may not test well academically; tests well orally, but not written.
Feels dumb; has poor self-esteem; hides or covers up weaknesses with ingenious compensatory strategies; easily frustrated and emotional about school reading or testing.
Talented in art, drama, music, sports, mechanics, story-telling, sales, business, designing, building, or engineering.
Seems to "Zone out" or daydream often; gets lost easily or loses track of time.
Difficulty sustaining attention; seems "hyper" or "daydreamer."
Learns best through hands-on experience, demonstrations, experimentation, observation, and visual aids.
And my score is 10/10. I'm dyslectic.
and they are too.
