Where did the weekend go??

One day it was Friday and suddenly I was getting up to go to work… And late, by the way.

Let’s see… Saturday: I spent about three hours in front of the computer basically deleting old emails from one of the groups I’m on, a Def Leppard fiction one. I thought fan fiction was something only we hormonal teenyboppers did, but it seems that I was wrong *LOL* Thing is, I had tons of chapters saved there, so I finally decided to sit down, copy and paste them to a couple of .doc files and read them at work. I know, I know… *shakes head* I proceeded to put some order in my photobucket account, especially in the folder named ‘Orlando’. :P After that, I watched the basketball Olympic final on TV, but decided to read a book instead when Italy began to give us a hard time. I guess that waking up so early and then going back to bed just messed up my whole weekend.

Then on Sunday it was my mom’s birthday. I had promised her I would make a cake for her (the ones you only have to add milk and eggs, but hey, it’s something!), so after lunch I began to prepare it and the chocolate to cover it with. Needless to say that my finger suspiciously found its way into the chocolate every couple of minutes. :) Then Julieta, my future sister-in-law, stopped by to visit my mom and to get my brother so they could go to my uncle’s house to give him the invitation for the wedding. I haven’t seen this particular uncle in… *rubs chin thoughtfully* if I’m not mistaken, about seven years. And we live in the same town. I have to agree with my mom’s philosophy: we’re both at the same distance from each other’s house. If he doesn’t come, why would we? Oh, and he’s not her brother. He’s my dad’s brother.

After my brother left, mom and I watched a bit of the closing ceremony of the Olympics until Silvina and the kids arrived which means: if you get to see something on TV with them around, it’s a miracle. Santiago wanted to change the channel, Tomás is a typhoon and my sister just doesn’t give a damn *LOL* Seriously, she just can’t handle them anymore. Even I want to strangle them sometimes!

We went out for a walk, spotted some nice sandals for the wedding ;) Couldn’t stop by the record shop to check if they knew anything about Nightwish’s visit *damn* but I’ll have to check that soon. Oh, and my mom found, in a pile of old magazines, about ten very old magazines called ‘Toco & Canto’ (something like ‘Sing & Play’) from September 1984 to about May 1986. Lots of Duran Duran stuff, a nice poster of The Power Station that I plan to put up soon *grins* although JT doesn’t look that good, Jocelyn. When my sister saw them, she almost cried *LOL* You should have seen her (and heard her *shivers*) singing along to some 80’s hits. =D Tomás kept staring at us as if we were mad *LOL*

So, as you can see, my weekend went by pretty quick. I didn’t get the chance to reply emails, so I better do this tomorrow, before everyone starts ignoring me for not emailing them back. I also have to post an email I got called ‘Why did the chicken cross the road’. I bet a lot of you have already read it, though. The Spanish version is just priceless!

I couldn’t let them down, so here they are: the basketball team that won the gold medal last Saturday!
