Today was a very good day. I'm taking a test on Thursday -- one of ten needed to become a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist -- and thus my employer graciously gave me today as a study day. Woo hoo!
There are/were many benefits (you might even say EMPLOYEE benefits) to said study day. First off, sleeping in! Second, jeans!! Third, no work!! And, a bonus that I didn't see coming -- the ability to enjoy the first damn good weather day this year!!
Yes, that's right -- I studied OUTSIDE in the downright warm 50 degree weather (it might not sound like much, but after the snow and cold we've had in Boston lately it was a damn roasting oven outside). I love the fact that I'm only a few minutes walk from the river now.
It was a good day. And I'm even a bit closer to memorizing all of the tax laws and such that allow for y'alls 401(k)s. Admittedly, that was the one negative (incredibly boring, as I'm sure you can imagine) part of the day . . . . but I'll let it slide. Especially since I also get all of Thursday off to take the test, which will be over at 3pm.
Oooh . . . and Friday's a holiday!! Yes, Fidelity has Good Friday off -- because the stock market is closed. Random, but true.
So . . . . TWO DAY WORKWEEK!! WOO HOO!! :-)
