Yeah, I had a feeling I wouldn't be managing to do it eight days in a row, but hey, I'll keep going at my own pace.
Day 2 for yesterday - First day of AFO! I HAVE ORDERED KAKASHI AND JIRAIYA RUBBER DUCKIES.
Today I'll be running around as Urahara Kisuke. For a limited value of run... I got pretty sick last night and I'm still not feeling great.
I have no camera, and I have no laptop charger, and I even have no towel (So apparently I will never be a hoopy frood) - My ride canceled at 9 in the evening Thursday, so I called the Bleach Mob and 30 minutes later I was packed and headed to their place, hee. So I still get to go.
One day, I swear, I will find people who don't cancel last-minute.
First day mini-report:
Yes. I was Carmen, in case the cut-text wasn't obvious enough.
Nothing opened until 1. This seemed a little odd, with registration starting at 10 am. But once things did open, I was at the Raven's Roost Tavern starting the RPG. It's a lot more involved this year with more to do... and the EXP dice are gorgeous, which throws another problem into the mix: You need to turn in the dice to level up and buy weapons/mounts. But they're customized AFO dice, and some of them are so lovely, like gold-and-green or silver-and-blue. The purple and pink are easy to turn in, but...
Just to level up as far as possible, it will take, I believe, 23 more dice. To buy all the weapons and mounts will be way more - I figured it out to be about a hundred yesterday. I only earned 20 yesterday, LOL, and spent 6 on the two weapons and 10 on leveling. And I kept the four that I liked the most.
A popular quest for the quest-givers to hand out was apparently finding Carmen Sandiego and bringing her back to the Tavern as proof. This, as you might be able to guess, made doing my own quests slightly more complicated.
I'm now a level two Anarchist with kunai on chain and a sharingan. Yep, they really are just handing them out. ;) Not quite, you have to buy them with dice, but you know. (Speaking of. Danzou grabbing for power of the alliance? Not a surprise. But making a move that obvious... He's got to have some reason to fragment them.)
The Dealer's room was way too packed. I'll go back today and see how it is.
I didn't see any amazing cosplays yesterday, nothing that made me go "Oh awesome." But today is Saturday. It should be better.
Dragonball Z Abridged was pretty funny, went to that panel. I went also to the panel by the writers of the series and... yeah. I don't know how to tactfully offer my services as an editor for the future when they're that impressed by what they've done. It's not a bad piece of work. There's potential there. But it's unpolished.
Anyway. On to day two. And here's hoping my temperature goes back to normal..
