Wolf and I made the decision to sell the motorcycle. We hadn't been able to afford to deck it out in a way to make it comfortable for both of us to ride on it together and we needed the cash. Wolf put it online Thursday and it sold Friday. Unfortunately while helping the guy put the bike into his truck bed Wolf took a tumble and scratched and bruised his knees/shins and sprained his right wrist.
Saturday morning we went Blueberry picking at Berry Patch Farms in Woodstock, GA. www.berrypatchfarms.net I've only been Strawberry and Apple picking before so this was a new experience for me. The farm is pesticide free so you can eat the berries right off the bushes. We spent about 2 hours there, ate while we picked, and still had about 6lbs of blueberries in our buckets. They are only $1.97lb! The farm provides little buckets with grocery sacks in them for use while picking. There's no entrance fee and the place is only about 15 minutes from where we live. We are planning another trip already! We have berries in the freezer for later and some in the fridge for immidiate eating. Bluberry Lemon Scones and Bluberry Cobbler are on the list to be made soon. :)
On the way home we stopped for lunch at the Alpine Bakery and got a "small" Strombolli to share for lunch. Wolf and I couldn't eat it all. We had 1/3 leftover! We also got dessert there, Wolf got 2 chocolate dipped butter cookies and I got some of the bestest carrot cake I've ever had in my life. OMG, moist cake fluffy (not overly sweet) cream cheese frosting. I'm drooling now just thinking about it. It's a huge serving too. I got 3 out of the one slice!
http://alpinebakeryandpizzeria.com/Alpine_Bakery.html All of that (and a Coke!) was just $20. It was well worth it.
After that we went to Perimiter mall. We looked around a little bit (it's a good mall) and stopped into Teavana to get some teas for Wolf and into LUSH to get my facewash (day and night), my facial toner and a facewash Wolf wanted to try. They were having a party and giving out free full size facial toners or body washes with any purchase over $45. We were almost at $45 (with just mine and Wolf's face soaps) so I got a Butterball Bath Bomb to push us over the edge and got my toner for free. That actually saved us almost $5.00! I know, only a woman can save money by spending it! *lol*
We also went grocery shopping, but that wasn't really special or out of the norm so I'll skip that.
I was expecting another slow Sunday at adoptions, but we were actually pretty busy. We did 4 adoptions! 3 kittens and 1 adult. We only adopted 1 kitten on Saturday, but together this is the best weekend we've had in months. Hopefully that trend continues. ,,,^-.-^,,,
While I was at adoptions, Wolf was doing some errands and had a tire on the car blow out. The metal inside the tire wrapped itself around the axle and so he couldn't get the tire off. He had to walk 2 miles up to a gas station to borrow the phone (pay phone was broken) to call a tow truck. Luckily since we were buying 4 new tires from Pep Boys in Roswell (great car repair shop - Wolf had already called them and gotten a quote on the tires) they came and towed the car to their shop at no charge.
Sunday night Wolf was too worn out from fighting the knee pain to go anywhere (he kept falling asleep in the living room chair watching TV) so I haded over to
shalie and
earendel's for our normal TrueBlood watching potluck. Stopped into Target to get some lite Ranch dressing to go with the Cobb Salad Wolf had made (I helped a little) and got caught in the brief monsoon that passed over north GA last night. That was nute. Then we shared yummy food, had a good time watching Lafayette hump his furniture. *LOL*
