so, i just sent jesse pk an e-mail about how i think spider-man 3 will play out. i thought it was sort of interesting and want to put it out on the web somewhere. so here it is!potential spoilers ahead. but my theory isn't what the actual movie wil be like. it's just a theory. so read it if you like.
ok.
sandman will be the main focus of the movie. i feel like them saying he killed ben parker will give them enough to work with during the film.
peter finds the alien costume somehow. i have no idea how. but he does.
during all this, gwen stacy comes into play. in the comics, she's the girl that basically steals peter away from mary jane. she's not a bitch though. peter just realizes that gwen is his ideal woman. this will mess with the whole marriage thing peter and mj had planned. also in the comics, mj realizes that gwen is just what peter's looking for so she loves him enough to let him go and be with her. i feel like this will happen to some effect.
meanwhile, harry is getting his son of green goblin ass ready to take down parker. they get into a crazy fight and he ends up kidnapping gwen and dropping her from the bridge a la the first movie with ACTUAL green goblin and mj. in the comics, green goblin kills gwen stacy. i feel like the movies wouldn't be doing the comics justice if this didn't happen somehow. so son of green goblin kills gwen on the bridge.
peter has been wearing the alien costume. the thing is alive and he doesn't even know it. it's been messing with his mind. making him think really fucked up things throughout the whole movie and being harder on pretty much any and every bad guy he finds. but when harry kills gwen on the bridge, peter gets so enraged that the alien costume drives him to kill harry. after this, peter's like "shit. this costume is crazy. i gotta get rid of it."
meanwhile at the daily bugle, eddie brock has been so enfuriated with peter parker getting better photos than him, he's flipping out. it basically ruins his life because he's poor and needs money and can't get it because parker always involuntarily one-ups him (like the comic book).
this next part is based on what i've seen in the latest trailer. this shit happens in the comic book and if they do a straight transition of it i will be so happy because it's def one of my favorite spider man moments ever.
peter learns that sound hurts the costume. he swings his way to the church and chills in the belltower when the bell is ringing. the sound of the bell ringing is enough to give peter the strength to rip off the alien costume. at first it tries to latch on to peter but once it realizes it's being rejected it straight up just takes off. meanwhile, eddie brock is in the church praying for some way to destroy peter parker. he notices peter in the bell tower while he's praying and figures out that peter's spider man. the alien costume, now rejected, immediately searches for and finds a new host: eddie brock (duh). the costume and eddie both have one thing in common: they both hate spider man with a passion. this creates the character we all know and love: venom.
spider man, now free of his alien costume, realizes it's time to deal with sandman. so they face off, it's a bad ass fight. spidey wins. you think it's over, but then in swoops venom for a surprise final battle between the two at the end of the movie. this battle is even more bad ass. spider man remembers the list of other weaknesses that the costume has (sound and fire) and eventually uses it on him.
the end of the movie though is where i have no idea where it'll pan out. will venom escape? will he be defeated? will he possibly maybe (and in my personal case hopefully), leave a spawn of the costume to hint at Carnage in the fourth movie?
no idea. but that's my theory. told ya it was detailed. it could be totally wrong but who knows? maybe venom will get introduced in the beginning and he'll be the main focus of the movie (which would be sweet but i doubt it'll happen). maybe the final battle will be between all three villains (a likely possibility but i personally hope they don't do that because it'd be too much like batman and robin with all the bad guys at once).
