I want to use the Faial entry in my main blog for Dorothee's blog carnival, so I'm slicing this part out, since it doesn't especially go with the rest of the entry and doesn't go with the theme.
Yesterday was my worst birthday ever. Kid B made some cake (vegan and delicious) and bought some presents, which was nice. But other than that, the whole day was basically unpleasant. I went to the store in the morning, and came back to discover that Dan had taken a whole day's worth of morphine at once, and was barely coherent. During the day we had visits from Dan's sister, a rabitty Hospice chaplain who wanted me to explain paganism to him (as if we were at some cocktail party or something), and three Hospice ladies who came out when I called about the morphine and acted like they thought he was trying to off himself. Dan and I have taken to calling this crew "The Spanish Inquisition." Through it all, everyone kept asking, "How are you?" and "Are you having a happy birthday?"
In the general spirit of things, I present to you, Reader Zero, my first ever Song of the Day:
