There is no doubt that schoolwork requires attention. It shouldn't be ignored. But, that doesn't mean it is important. I'd prefer to call it urgent. Urgent things scream at us for attention RIGHT NOW! Answer the phone, answer the door, drive to school, send in this application, call this person back for a job, etc. They are urgent because they come with time constraints. The urgent, unfortunately, always seems to crowd out the important. Important things transcend time. They are always important, no matter what the time. Sure, the urgent stuff gets all the attention, but the important things are what really matter. My faith in humanity is restored by you because even in the midst of your stress, you managed to correctly determine what was important and see to it rather than just try to quiet the screams of the urgent. The urgent, obviously, is the paper. The important is the fact that it is such a beautiful day. Sitting down and understanding that you are alive is important. Seeing the beauty of another day is important. Telling those special people in your life that you love them is important. You will likely forget this paper as time goes on, but you will probably remember the beauty of a warm spring day. Sure, the paper needs attention, but it isn't really important, Rebecca. Once you understand this distinction in such a way that you "know" it inside of you, then you will start to leave a lot of your worry behind. I think you are certainly on the road to understanding.

Best of luck on the paper. Thank you for sharing your lovely spring day with us.

You are so right. Thank you for those beautiful words ♥ I wish I could prioritize the important today, but I think I have to concentrate on the urgent :/ Maybe I'll have time for some important things, too ^^

Thanks!
