New Year's meme 2017
Soon 2018 already! Here is my New Year's meme for 2017. I wish you a Happy New Year! :)
1. What did you do in 2017 that you'd never done before?
I decided to have six months of "köpstopp"/buying nothing (except for food, necessities, experiences, gifts and some other stuff). I saw First Aid Kit, Veronica Maggio and Jens Lekman live for the first time and I went to two of those concerts alone. I went to Nyköping to hang out with Maria, Jessica and Kristina. I took a boat to see Fjäderholmarna. I called and got to ride in an ambulance for the first time. I had enough of my job and handed in my notice. My last day there is in the beginning of March.
2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I had a few goals and I've managed to work towards some of them at least. But my reading goal of 25 books will surely fail (I've only read 8 books). I plan to make new goals, but my reading goal for 2018 will be more modest.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
A cousin of mine and one of Danne's brothers both had babies.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Our cat Damaskus ;_;. The bunnies Rollo and Milou. My mum's best friend and a former neighbour and friend of my family.
5. What countries did you visit?
Denmark.
6. What would you like to have in 2018 that you lacked in 2017?
A clean and tidy home. ^^;; And as usual, balance and working routines in life.
7. What date from 2017 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
April 7 - the terror attack in Stockholm.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
That I finally decided to quit my job. It wasn't an easy decision, but it's been too stressful and many of my colleagues have already left as well. It's not worth it and I need a change. (I will still work as a medical secretary though.)
9. What was your biggest failure?
Stressing too much at work and almost burning myself out completely.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Yes, mostly stress-related stuff.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Concert tickets. A custom-made purse, made by a woman in Sweden. A porcelain mixing bowl. Gifts to others.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My old boss', she did a lot to stop me from completely burning myself out in the beginning of the year.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Stupid men with a lot of power. Terrorists.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Bills, food, train tickets, concerts and the purse.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Some of the concerts and seeing Macken at a theatre in Gothenburg.
16. What song will always remind you of 2017?
Hmm.. maybe Jens Lekman's What's That Perfume That You Wear?.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) Happier or sadder? About the same, maybe a bit more drained of energy.
b) Thinner or fatter? Same.
c) Richer or poorer? Richer.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
The usual: Exercising, spent more time outdoors, being creative, reading, cleaning, relaxing and sleeping.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Stressing out, crying and spending too much time on Instagram.
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
I spent it in Örebro as usual and then celebrated Boxing Day with Danne in Stockholm.
21. How will you be spending New Years?
Quietly at home, just the two of us. A nice dinner and perhaps some board games?
22. Did you fall in love in 2017?
No.

None.
24. What was your favorite TV program?
Game of Thrones and Poldark.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
No.
26. What was the best book you read?
Nonfiction: Hjärnstark by Anders Hansen. Fiction: Marina by Carlos Ruiz Zafón.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
That going to concerts alone isn't so bad after all.
28. What did you want and get?
A new job.
29. What was your favorite film of this year?
Umm... I don't even remember the films I saw this year. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is the only one I remember, and I really liked it.
30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
31 and I spent it in Örebro with Danne and my family as usual, no surprises here.
31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
If Danne's health had been better I would've been much happier.
32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2017?
Boring and neglected...
33. What kept you sane?
Believing that it will all get better.
34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
No one.
35. What political issue stirred you the most?
Environmental issues.

Old pets who have died the last few years. :'(

Isolde, Danne's little niece.

That sometimes you just have to make a change, even if it's hard.
