Wow! what a short post!

Based solely on the length of this post, some of you might suspect my account has been hijacked. I assure you that isn't the case. I'm not going to prove it in any way.

It is my firm belief that mowing the back yard after not doing so for a year counts as exercise. Thus, I consider my post-work activities today to be a good, solid hour of exercise.

In silly news :
I spent the first half of this year building an infrastructure and system for all of my team's projects to be built on top of. Around the time our replacement for the people tracking system was to go online, our team went into a holding pattern as we changed departments. During this time, the people tracking system (and with it, the infrastructure i built) was canceled in favor of a requisition that was open to have one built by the department we are moving to.
We are currently building the new system that is replacing the system we built but never released which was replacing the system we built that is currently active (as silly as that might sound, that isn't the silly part yet).
Today, i bundled up some code i wrote for the audit trail system for the defunct system and sent it to a guy working with us on the new system. He's going to use it as the basis for the new audit trail system. Earlier, i bundled up some other parts of the old system and sent those to him so he could look at them and model another part of the system on it.
So we canceled the infrastructure i built and the application i largely built (i built all of the back end systems. the interface was completely built by someone else, but based on an architecture design i built) and are replacing them with and infrastructure i am mostly building with the pieces i'm not building being based off of the code from the last system i built, and with an interface based off of the same design i specified for the old replacement system.
The fact that everyone who thinks this was a better idea that just using the system i designed as the original replacement (that was about 90% finished when it was canceled) is in Cupertino leads me to believe it is unsafe to drink the tap water in the San Jose area.

even when it's short, it's long.

work story, mowing the lawn, short post
