"Windoof" and "Microschrott", un-words for the un-informed
I still remember how life was in the early days of MS Windows. The friend of my mother explained Win95 to one of my uncles. They were discussing things like the fancy [x]-buttons that close windows, or the start-button which pops up a menu with all your programs and system settings, and other stuff. In fact, everyone was quite pleased with that new OS.
Today, there are some alternatives to Windows. I am not going to talk about these, that's not what this entry is about. It is about those who used Windows happily for *years*, now heard a handful of rumours about those alternatives and then suddenly shout their "inconvenience" all over the world.
Look. As a matter of fact, every OS in the world has advantages and disadvantages. Most of them are "disadvantages" the "everyday user" isn't even aware of, because they simply are out of his scope. They might be interesting for programmers or power users, which you certainly are not. Obviously you got along very well with Windows for quite some time. You never complained about anything because there simply *was nothing* to complain about. You wrote your e-mails, you surfed the web, you downloaded the pictures from your digital camera... heck, you even played cool games with Windows. Now you've heard those rumours and propagandas about that "alternative OS". You didn't even hear facts about it, let alone facts about Windows. But suddenly it is a pain. Suddenly it is too slow for you. Suddenly it doesn't allow you to fulfill your tasks. Suddenly it is "Windumb" and "Microshit". Now when you get your hands on a copy of that "alternative OS" it suddenly is *not* the cockaigne those rumours told you. You realize that it is hard to install, or that it lacks driver support, lacks software, that it has a crappy GUI or even none at all, that it is a fucking unstable beta or even worse, that it is slow, or anything else. In short: That it doesn't allow you to fulfill your tasks. But instead of *finally* appreciating that Windows *does* have its good points, you are too proud or too dumb to stand up saying "Ok I was wrong! Don't naively believe in everything they say!". Sorry you losers, but shut the fuck up. You have no opinion, you have no idea, all you have is a collection of propaganda sentences.
