Hounds

This needs serious work but I want to get it up here so I am forced to look at it all the time.

Week 15 Lessons

“Some thing's wrong with Sakura.” Pakkun pointed out to Kakashi while they sat under a tree. Twenty feet away, Sakura crouched over a dog while the rest of the pack surrounded her.

“She hasn't said anything.” Kakashi scratched at his chin, looking curiously over at the woman in question.

“What did you talk about last?”

“You, actually. She wanted to know about the blood pact.”

“She's upset over Teeth.”

“She did the best she could. Sakura isn't a vet like Inuzuka Hana.” Kakashi commented from behind his book. Pakkun snorted in disagreement.

“Actually, I am. Remember Akamaru was a teammate during my early chuunin years.” Sakura answered as she walked over to them, wiping at her hands with a bloody cloth.

“So?” Pakkun asked. His worry over his pack-mate obvious.

“He'll make it, but it was close. I guess...all this time I thought of the pack as more spirit than flesh. I didn't think you could die. I need more information.”

“I have scrolls in the village that you could research.” Kakashi offered as he stood and made ready to leave. At Sakura's nod they took to the trees.

One month later-

“Pakkun, if I understand the scrolls correctly, you need the blood to create a link between where you are and where you need to be.” Sakura tapped on the scroll in front of her. The pug jumped up to the table for a better look.

“A bit simplified but yes.”

“And if Kakashi were to die without passing you to someone else you become trapped and in essence, lost in between. You can't come to him, you have to wait to be called.”

“It's a risk we take.”

“I don't like it. And I think I know a way around it.”

“Way around it?”

“Where you can come and go without being summoned. You are emotionally tied to Kakashi through the scroll. I think...this will let you come without his chakra.”

“How?” She waved away the question and pulled a small scroll out of her pocket.

“If it works, I can have it simplified into a seal not unlike the ones that Orochimaru used to call Manda. We don't need Kakashi involved if I refine my chakra to medical grade. This might not work. ” Sakura stressed as she smoothed out the paper in front of Pakkun.

Together they poured over the details before she embedded chakra into the scroll. A nip to his paw and Pakkun was smearing blood across the seal. With a poof of smoke he disappeared. Sakura walked to the kitchen window where she was able to see the building Kakashi lived in. Long minutes ticked by before a small dog strutted out a door with a bewildered copy nin trailing behind.

Sakura flew out her door to meet them in the street. Pakkun looked up at her with a grin.

“Where do I get the tattoo?”
