Vulgarity as Default?
Vulgarity and violence seem to have become the default way of dealing with that which we don't like. Whether it is the idiots converging on a college campus to riot and be entertained by police vehicles, or the cluster f*ck that is "gamer gate" pushing women out of their little boys club, or the obsession with trashy reality tv, we seem to default to the most crass option available to make ourselves feel good when things don't go our way. In children this is a temper tantrum. In adults, it is apparently just average consumer behavior.
