Summary: Luhan leaves for a study abroad semester in NY and leaves Chanyeol behind. Basically, without Luhan smiling at him everything about Chanyeol's life sucks just that much worse.

I've had this bookmarked for a while, and I'm so glad I finally got around to reading it! Usually fics leave me at the end with this heart-mushy emptiness, but this fic started that way from the beginning so that I didn't know what was going on or what would happen- and don't misunderstand, I LIKE that feeling ! It almost felt that Chanlu's story was starting from the end and working backwards, screw the linear storyline- it just felt like the END and I wanted it to not be that way. But you built their story so carefully, reconstructing it alongside Chanyeol's moping heart.

I loved Jongin here and I hurt for his eventual heartache- but Chanyeol was just so enamored with Luhan the whole time. The obvious structure would be to have him slowly falling out of love, but not here and I looooveee that! A year changes people and things aren't quite the same, but that doesn't mean it has to be over.

Your side characters were so good too. I loved Jongdae, and Kris and Minseok and Yixing and all their little characterizations that you literally dropped everywhere and in every scene. Actually, that's what I love most about your stories- that attention to detail. It's so slice-of-life and wholesome and makes me sigh.

This was the second long fic I actually finished and I had a lot of fun experimenting with the timeline. In my mind I never considered that chanlu would break up, so I’m glad their connection came across in the end :)

Slice of life is my jam, which is why I love your fics too ;)
