Inventing a life: Dasein.
No one wants to hear or read of anyone`s dreary life - I write here not for you or for anyone out there but I write for myself only. I certainly don`t entertain the idea that human beings are instinctively meant to gravitate towards other human beings in order to fulfill some destiny. The first principle, my principle, was always to be alone. To be by myself; alone with myself was a matter of survival. There could be no room for anyone coming in and taking over. To read books and think strange ideas was the order of the day and it still is in many ways. Avoiding people, listening to anarchist pop music on my walkman, looking all serious and enigmatic and waltzing around the city in a Smiths T-shirt - this was existence for me. This was my Dasein! Some things are the same today and some things are more urgent than they used to be. On the mountains of "truth" you can only climb alone.
