TVXQ celebrated their 10th anniversary in 2013. On the 26th and 27th of December, TVXQ held concerts and met with fans to celebrate their 10th anniversary together.
U-Know Yunho and Max Changmin prepared unique solo performances for the concerts. U-Know Yunho sang his own composition ‘Santa Revolution’ while Max Changmin performed Norazo’s ‘Wild Horse’. Wearing the horse costume from Norazo’s music video, Max Changmin drew the attention of everyone in the venue with his comical dance performance.
Sitting in the waiting room of a music program, Max Changmin said, “I was trying to choose between ‘Wild Horse’ and ‘Curry’. I was leaning more towards ‘Curry’ because ‘Wild Horse’ only recently came out, but I ended up going with it.”
Max Changmin made sure everything was perfect, even borrowing a horse outfit from Norazo. He said, “I called them in person to thank them for lending me the outfit. The strawberry headgear I wore last time (during the SM TOWN concert in Japan with Kyu Hyun) cost 900,000 Won, and this horse outfit has so many more details and breaks more easily. But I was so grateful that they lent it to me that I called them to say so, and they told me that they were grateful as well. They said that if I ever need anything else, I should give them a call.”
‘Wild Horse’ was a stage that was full of laughs and comical relief. Max Changmin said, “Till now, all I’ve done is perform songs that make me look cool. I’ve only been able to let myself go to a certain limit. I think it’s nice to let myself go like I did for ‘Wild Horse’ when it’s just me and our fans. I changed my tempo a bit because I really wanted to do this.”
The group sang ‘Always Be There’ at the concerts, before the release date of their album, and it was a song for their fans, just like ‘I Swear’, which Max Changmin wrote the lyrics for. But ‘I Swear’ is a song the group has never performed at a concert before.
Max Changmin jokingly said, “It’s a running joke in our concert team. We created the song for our fans, but we’ve never performed it on stage. We should probably sing it next time we have a concert.”
The star is set to leave KBS 2TV’s ‘Our Neighborhood’s Master of Variety and Sports’, a show he’s been with for over a year. We asked if anything emotional happened during the second to last filming session on the 8th. He said, “I thought it wouldn’t be said, but I got a bit emotional.”
Meanwhile, TVXQ released their 7th album ‘Tense’ on the 6th and have since been promoting their title track ‘Something’.
